Get ready for an afternoon of big vehicles, helicopters, K-9s and family fun at the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation’s Touch-A-Truck!
This free community event gives children and families an opportunity to get an up-close look at some of the vehicles and specialized equipment used by first responders throughout Calhoun County.
Kids can explore police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, BearCats, mobile command units and other specialty equipment. They’ll also have the chance to see helicopters up close, meet K-9s and their handlers, and talk with the men and women who serve and protect our communities every day.
More Than Just Really Cool Trucks
Touch-A-Truck is designed to be fun, but it also serves an important purpose.
Children often see emergency vehicles when something has gone wrong. Touch-A-Truck gives them an opportunity to meet first responders in a positive, relaxed environment — when there is no emergency.
They can ask questions, learn about the equipment, discover what different agencies do and get to know the people behind the uniforms. It’s an opportunity to build connections between local families and the first responders who serve their communities.
