After three years as a summer event, the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation’s Battle of the Badges Chili Challenge is officially moving to winter!

We know, we know. Our firefighter friends have never minded standing over a pot of chili when it’s 90 degrees outside. Apparently, heat on top of heat is their thing.

But after three years of serving chili during an Alabama summer, we’re giving the boys in blue a turn — and moving the Battle of the Badges to a time of year when a hot bowl of chili sounds pretty darn good.

Join us Saturday, January 9, 2027, from 1–4 p.m. at the Oxford Civic Center for the 4th Annual Battle of the Badges Chili Challenge!

The Battle Continues

This isn’t your average chili cook-off.

Battle of the Badges brings together local law enforcement agencies, fire departments and first responders for an afternoon of friendly competition, community and, of course, plenty of chili.

Participating teams will put their best recipes to the test as they compete for bragging rights — and the chance to take home a Battle of the Badges title.

And while the competition may get serious, the purpose behind it is even bigger.

Chili With a Purpose

The Battle of the Badges Chili Challenge is a fundraiser benefiting the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local law enforcement.

Funds raised through Foundation events help provide local agencies with training, equipment and resources beyond what traditional agency budgets can provide.

It’s an opportunity for the community to spend an afternoon with local first responders, enjoy some great food and help support the men and women who serve Calhoun County every day.

The Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation invites you to join us for the Inaugural Blue Line Gala on Saturday, June 5, 2027, at the Anniston Country Club.

This formal evening will bring together community members, business leaders and supporters of local law enforcement for an unforgettable night of dinner, dancing, live entertainment and fundraising — all benefiting the Foundation’s mission to support law enforcement agencies throughout Calhoun County.

An Evening to Remember

Guests will enjoy a catered dinner, followed by an evening of live music and dancing with a live band.

Proceeds from the Inaugural Blue Line Gala benefit the Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation and its mission to support local law enforcement agencies.

The Foundation works to help provide training, equipment and resources that fall outside traditional agency budgets, allowing our community to directly invest in the men and women who work every day to keep Calhoun County safe.

The Gala offers an opportunity to celebrate that service while helping ensure local agencies have access to the resources they need.
