June 23, 2026 – The Calhoun County Blue Line Foundation is happy to announce that we will be having the 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Chili Cookoff on August 8, 2026. This year the Event will be held in Oxford, Al at the Oxford Civic Center and will be open to the public from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This year we have changed the name from “Smoke Eaters Chili Challenge” to the “Battle of the Badges Chili Challenge” to better display that it is both police and fire competing against each other.
For the first two years law enforcement has taken the grand prize trophy back to their departments. The fire fighters have had the last year to hone their recipes with a hope of taking the trophy away from the police to bring it back to their stations and proudly let the trophy stage in their cabinet for the year.
We will keep everyone posted as we get closer to the date.
